 race description, disciplines & distances
Nestled in the rolling hills of NW Pennsylvania, Two Mile Run County Park is a compact little bundle of adventure racing possibilities. The race will include paddling on the lake, mountain biking on the miles of singletrack surrounding the park and a challenging 'freestyle' orienteering finish.

 team composition
The race is open to solos, but you will certainly enjoy the race more if you put a team together and share the fun. Teams can be from two to four racers of any gender and age composition. Due to the unique 'freestyle finish', this race will be competitive at the front and yet still suitable for those trying out their first adventure race.

 prizes & awards
We will recognize outstanding achievement with trophies, awards, schwag and discounted race coupons. We categorize teams according to gender and age and try and go at least three deep in all classes. We usually save some of the prizes for raffles so you will have a chance at something even if your race does not go so well.

The race is immediately followed by a picnic with hot food and cold drinks. Due to the nature of the 'freestyle' finish, all racers will finish at approximately the same time and the post race celebration is a great time and hang out, discuss the race and maybe even meet a future teammate for another race.

 required gear
The only required gear is a helmet while on the bike and a PFD while boating.

We will have plenty of canoes for rent at $20/boat. For safety's sake, there is a maximum of three racers/boat. Each rental canoe comes supplied with conventional paddles & PFD. You may use your own if you wish, including kayak paddles in the canoe.

Although we strive to keep the gear list to a minimum, that doesn't mean that those items are all you should bring. You should carry whatever you need to feel safe and comfortable given the race description and potential weather conditions. This may include:

  • Hydration pack (ie. Camelbak) & plenty of water (or water purification kit)
  • bike repair kit, pump and spare tubes
  • Extra clothing, windbreaker, fleece
  • First aid kit, small knife, emergency space blanket, whistle
  • Energy bars, gel or snacks

 skills certifications
No skills certifications are required for this adventure race. This race is suitable for both beginning and experienced adventure racers.

 maps
Maps will be of a variety of types and scales suitable for the adventure race. They will be premarked with checkpoint locations and it will not be necessary to plot CP locations from UTMs.
