Dillon Sprint Adventure Challenge Results

The short sprint race format consisted of approximately 2 miles of flatwater paddling to two cehckpoints (CPs) placed on the shores of Dillon Reservoir, about 4 miles of singletrack mountain biking through the mud and slippery wet leaves and a foot travel/navigation section to 5 CPs spread out over about 3 miles of the surrounding forest.

The field was divided into three groups, with each group completing the different race elements in a different order. For example, one group was paddle-bike-trek and the next was bike-trek-paddle. This format prevented teams from knowing just exactly how far ahead or (or behind...) other teams were and kept them working hard throughout the race.

Even so, the top three teams all finished within minutes of each other and enjoyed hot food and cold drinks as they watched the rest of the teams finish over the next 90 minutes. Kevin & Holly Wheeler came in first followed immediately by Robert & Renea Gaus and Jody Lobert (KC & The Sunshine Man) and Bonnie and Matt Hartmann of CITGO/Grey Coat Multisport. We saw a lot of new faces out there, and hope you all will be back for more racing next year.
